Technology is an important consideration in contemporary museum practice. It has changed the way that visitors experience exhibitions, but it also means that museum professionals have new ways to interact with their visitors. This paper will explore the impact that interactive digital technologies have made on two exhibitions, the National Motor Museum’s Bush Mechanics and MOD.’s MOD.IFY. In both cases, the museums were working without tangible objects and as result technology becomes the object in their place, amplifying Aboriginal voices and enabling them to tell their own stories.
